The Slings Myofascial Training education is an advanced curriculum, therefore the prerequisite to participating in the Slings education is a certification in movement or a related field of health and bodywork:

  • A movement certification comprising at least 150 contact hours with a minimum of 28 hours of anatomy (e.g. Pilates, Yoga, Personal Training, etc.).


  • Certification in bodywork, therapy or health (e.g. structural integration, physiotherapy, exercise physiology, etc.).

It is important to enter the Slings training with some teaching or therapy experience and a set of exercises complementing the Slings movement repertoire.

Expected Foundational Understanding of Anatomy and Physiology

Within the context of movement, a foundational understanding of anatomy and physiology is expected:

  • Terminology: General Latin terminology i.e. definition of muscles and bones.
  • Terminology: Planes of movement, joint movement.
  • Understanding of passive movement apparatus (joints, bones, bone features).
  • Knowledge about the spine (structure and function).
  • Understanding of active movement apparatus: Composition of skeletal muscles (physiology).
  • Knowledge of the 30-50 most relevant muscles involved in movement: Origin, insertion and function, the ability to explain the difference between the global and local muscular system.
  • Working of musculature (isotonic/isometric, agonist, antagonist etc.).

If you feel you do not yet fulfil these requirements, we recommend taking an anatomy course or commit to diligent self-study.

Please note that we do not endorse specific Pilates or yoga teacher training, movement or therapy training programs as prerequisites for our courses. We leave it up to the student to decide if their anatomy understanding suffices. 

Anatomy Trains Graduates
