Testimonials

Voilà, here are some testimonials from Slings Myofascial Training graduates.

Karin really brought to life for me the deep clarity of how fascia works and how movement impacts structure through fascia. It filled in many pieces that had previously seemed intuitive, bur are now backed and solidified by concrete practices and information. I loved it!

Heather Low (Canada) (Anatomy Trains in Motion, 25.06.2017)

Informative, useful, lots of AHA moments for me - ties my instincts to science. It will help me and my students with mysterious aches, pains and imbalances. I will use lots in Pilates - it now makes more sense.

Lila Dawson (Canada) (Anatomy Trains in Motion, 25.06.2017)

I enjoyed the course. The anatomy side of things was particularly great, it really helped me understand the myofascial meridians in much more detail which is exactly what I was looking for. I will hugely be able to apply lots of what I learned for my own practice and with clients.

Mora Mcgovern (Denmark) (Anatomy Trains in Motion, 21.06.2017)

Hugely informative in terms of Anatomy Trains and myofascial mechanics. It has taught me further lessons about my body and the imbalances and injuries. The movements learnt will definitely enhance my personal practice.

Isla Wilson (Denmark) (Anatomy Trains in Motion, 21.06.2017)

Thoroughly enjoyable - so fascinating to learn and understand how the body moves as a whole! Really opened my mind as to how muscle and fascia works.

Sarah Gunn (Ireland) (Anatomy Trains in Motion, 11.06.2017)

This course is an eye opener for all the theoretical information from Anatomy Trains - but translated into motion - you actually feel all the connections through the different myofascial meridians. This course has heightened my awareness of all the fascial lines and it will help in my work with clients.

Laura Michele Jakobsen (Norway) (Anatomy Trains in Motion, 11.06.2017)

I was very impressed and pleasantly surprised at how interactive and enjoyable the course was. I came to be inspired and to start thinking of movement in a new way and this course 100% achieved that.

Gigi Eynan (Ireland) (Anatomy Trains in Motion, 11.06.2017)

I have thoroughly enjoyed diving deep into the complexity of fascia and Anatomy Trains. The complexity of the course topic was made simpler by the great instructors who delivered it with functional application and by getting all lines moving. As a manual therapist, this information will extend my ability to assist clients in opening their posture by providing practical examples and movement prescription.

Vanessa (Australia) (Anatomy Trains in Motion, 21.04.2017)

Great course! Even though I have a manual therapy background I have been looking for a movement specific Anatomy Trains course for years and just loved how it was applied to movement. I now have a clear understanding of the lines and how they influence movement patterns and how they work together in movement.

Debbie (Australia) (Anatomy Trains in Motion, 21.04.2017)

The course exceeded my expectations (which were very high!), the most inspirational course I've ever done, it has changed how I look at movement and will influence my teaching.

(Ruslana Filatova) (Anatomy Trains in Motion, 12.12.2016)

(Irina Filatova) (Anatomy Trains in Motion, 12.12.2016)

I think the course is very professional and inspiring, the movement teacher amazing - best lecturer I've ever had! Good balance of theory and practical exercises. I really feel that this approach could be the missing link for me when teaching movement or treating clients as a physical therapist - thank you!

Karin Lerche Jensen (Denmark) (Anatomy Trains in Motion, 12.12.2016)

Very professional, in depth; good combination und theory and practise, very passionate, experienced and knowledgeable teacher - a very good course!

Sina Kaden (Holland) (Anatomy Trains in Motion, 30.11.2016)

Siu Siem (Norway) (Anatomy Trains in Motion, 13.11.2016)

Hi, Just wanted to let you know that the video clip you sent me went down really well with the students I taught last week. Its certainly a useful resource I'll use again. I even got them doing a few of the 'moves'.

Ola Adamczyk (Poland) (Anatomy Trains in Motion, 17.04.2016)

Dear Karin Thank you for the most inspiring and super motivating weekend - you are so much present and so real when teaching - every muscle every facia in your body is present - so inspiring - I am very thankful. This morning my training was completely different - I was very present and much more aware of the muscles and facias working - like the limitations and restrictions had gone and I felt much more free and connected and the same time much more present. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Hope to see you soon. All the best Connie

Connie Gorming (Finland) (Anatomy Trains in Motion, 10.04.2016)

(Italy) (Anatomy Trains in Motion, 03.04.2016)

(Italy) (Anatomy Trains in Motion, 03.04.2016)

Mi piace che sia diretto a professionisti.

(Italy) (Anatomy Trains in Motion, 03.04.2016)

(Ruslana Filatova) (Slings in Motion I, 12.12.2016)

I was very impressed. The team is highly professional, organized and supportive. Benefitting my work following the course is the much clearer view and understanding I now have of the myofascial meridians in relation to movement which will support me in making wiser choices with sequencing, cueing and viewing.

Interview with James Mattingley

How did your personal experience of the course differ from your original expectations?

I expected the training to be comprehensive, thorough and enlightening (which it was). What I didn’t expect is that the knowledge, and movement parts of the training would so profoundly affect my body. It gave a freedom, openness, flexibility and ease of motion in an incredibly short period of time.

How did you grow personally during your time at the course, and how has it changed you?

It’s changed the way I think about the body, how I teach about the body and how I move through the world. The knowledge was both intellectual and physical, allowing immediate integration.

In what ways do you feel that the Slings concept overlays and relates to your current professional modality?

It provides a much clearer framework, a meta-program to which I can slot the practice and teaching of yoga into, to create and develop smarter, better and more beneficial classes and workshops.

How do you feel that your clients have benefited from your Slings training?

My extra knowledge has been shared, and has benefitted my clients evidenced by the differences that they feel in their bodies after my classes.

Can you share a situation or circumstance in your professional setting (anonymously) where you have specifically used or called upon something you learned at the Slings training, and doing so enhanced the outcome for you and your clients?

Nothing specifically (I don’t usually work one on one), though it has equipped me with the ability to far better explain and respond to questions about fascia particularly in teaching Roll & Release style classes.

If you were talking one-to-one with a colleague and they were asking about courses or continuing professional education, why would you recommend the Slings Foundational Education Intensive training in Bali?

I have done and will continue to do so! I expected the Slings Myofascial training to be comprehensive, thorough and enlightening (which it was). What I didn’t expect is how the knowledge and movement parts of the training would so profoundly affect my body. It has given me a freedom, openness, flexibility and ease of motion within an incredibly short period of time.

Completing this course has changed the way I think about the body, how I teach about the body and how I move through the world. The knowledge shared was both intellectual and physical, allowing immediate integration.

In my work the Slings concept provides a much clearer framework, a meta-program to which I can slot the practice and teaching of yoga into in order to create and develop smarter, better and more beneficial classes and workshops. The resulting benefit evidenced by the differences that my clients feel in their bodies after my classes. I have already recommended the Slings Foundational Education Intensive training in Bali with art of motion with colleagues and I will continue to do so!

Interview with Claudia Buehrer

How did your personal experience of the course differ from your original expectations?

Being in the heart of Bali in Ubud, and having so much time to explore the body, mind and spirit, it became clear how impactful the surroundings and educator can be; it was one of the best experiences I ever had on a course. I did find that art of motion picked the perfect location to offer the course. The course was well structured and did reach far beyond my expectations.

How did you grow personally during your time at the course, and how has it changed you?

Personally during the course I experienced a shift in my posture, not only in my physical appearance but also on a mental and emotional level. I have been given the opportunity to explore and discuss some of my experiences following the courses with amazing teachers and educators.

I feel these experiences have given me tools to improve or simply take the time to understand why certain things work well and some not. This has had a huge impact on the way I now look at my body as well as my clients’ bodies.

In what ways do you feel that the Slings concept overlays and relates to your current professional modality?

In my own business I always aim for an holistic approach. The Slings concept has given me the opportunity to offer my clientele so much more. I incorporate the Slings training in my classes, and I have realised repeatedly that there is so much more to learn and understand. I am driven to learn more and to improve my business, which will eventually help my clientele to improve their health and well–being.

How do you feel that your clients have benefited from your Slings training?

The slings concept has already helped the majority of my clientele to feel better. Most have improved in body awareness, and I can see the progress of some long-term clients, from Pilates Essentials – Flow to Slings training. I educate my clients, and the interest in my mat classes has grown since I have been back from Bali

Can you share a situation or circumstance in your professional setting (anonymously) where you have specifically used or called upon something you learned at the Slings training, and doing so enhanced the outcome for you and your clients?

Yes I can, in one of my master classes, offering Fascia & movement training, one of my clients experienced a huge shift in her emotions, and she found the class very challenging, not only physically but also emotionally. She gave me some great feedback the next day; her husband had said that she came home after the class more energised but also extremely happy and content with herself. This was the first time in months she had felt this way, due to becoming a first time mum and the changes she faced at the time. This client now comes to class twice a week, and loves it! Her endurance, strength and resilience have improved and she can cope with daily life much better. I do incorporate the intention setting and the living pose we learnt in Bali into my classes.

Most importantly, now I am able to notice not only the posture and alignment of a body, I know and see that it also comes from deep within, the way our bodies are shaped, and why things work for some people and not for others.

If you were talking one-to-one with a colleague and they were asking about courses or continuing professional education, why would you recommend the Slings Foundational Education Intensive training in Bali?

I recommend this course because I truly believe that art of motion is providing some of the best teacher training around. The support offered during the course is amazing, there is never a sign of tiredness in answering questions on the part of the presenters & the course material is outstanding. The administration is spot on, the information and course content is appealing and the contact before and after the course is very professional. The teachers and educators truly live and breath their work. I have been practicing and sharing some of the course content from Bali with colleagues, I feel there is a need to pass on this great work. It is so interesting and it will only help teachers to grow and clients to improve their well–being.
