Back Health
Functional Myofascial Anatomy, Pain & Health-Oriented Teaching
This Back Health course offers a science-informed approach with practical tools designed to create positive changes for individuals suffering from pain—or to help prevent it before it starts.
About the Course
To understand the 'why' behind the movement practices, we will challenge outdated beliefs about back pain and thoroughly explore the myofascial anatomy of the abdomen and back, with a special focus on the influential thoracolumbar fascia. The training aims and strategies emphasize self-healing and sustainable back health.
This health-oriented course offers a modern, holistic perspective on back pain and a human-centred teaching approach that explores anatomy-based, science-informed, experience-proven movement solutions.
The knowledge gained can be integrated into personal training and group lessons to benefit people with back pain or to prevent it from happening in the first place.
Regarding the individual and global burden of pain, back pain is the leading complaint. While rarely life-threatening, it can bring a person to their knees—physically and psycho-emotionally. Adding to the hardship are outdated beliefs that stubbornly stick around: back pain goes hand in hand with ageing, alterations in the spine lead to pain, or a hurting back is fragile and needs ongoing protection.
During the course, we will not discuss back pathologies, nor are we covering medically-oriented exercise interventions or rehabilitation techniques.
The course does not claim to provide ‘the answer’ to the global issue of back pain. However, with wholehearted intent, it provides insight and tools to make a positive change in the life of individuals suffering from pain.
