Matwork Examination

The assessments included in the Pilates Matwork Certification are:

• Theory Examination comprising three parts:
  • Studio-based: Pilates Essentials 90 minute Theory Examination.
  • Self-Directed Learning: Remedial Pilates I Assignment.
  • Self-Directed Learning: Pilates Essentials Lesson Plan.
• Practical Examination based on Pilates Essentials repertoire.

You must enrol into the Theory and Practial Examinations separately.

Course Attendance & Examinations

• To receive a Certificate of Attainment you are required to attend a minimum of 80% of each course.
• The lecturer will not take responsibility for missed course material occurring due to absence.
• If less than 80% of a course is attended, no Certificate of Attainment will be issued and entrance to consecutive examinations or courses will not be granted.
• To receive the final Certificate, competency in all examinations needs to be gained.
• If competency is not yet achieved, the relating examination can be re-taken.
• An examination can be re-taken up to three times.
• Failing to gain competency on the third attempt will result in partial or complete resitting of the related course.

Examination Results & Feedback

NOTIFICATION
Within six to eight weeks you will be notified of the outcome of your examination.

FEEDBACK
You will receive detailed written feedback regarding your Practical Examination. The Assessor will give you feedback on:Your form and exercise execution, elaborating on each exercise taught.

• Your overall form and movement quality.
• Your teaching didactics.
• Your lesson delivery and teaching methodology.
• Your teaching quality.

The feedback form also states achieved scores on the Practical and Theory Examinations.
Cost
The following fees for examinations apply:

• 1st TAKE
• Pilates Essentials Theory Examination, Lesson Plan and Assignment $120
• Pilates Essentials Practical Examination $180
• 2nd & 3rd TAKE
• Pilates Essentials Theory Examination and/or Lesson Plan and/or Assignment $80
• Pilates Essentials Practical Examination (feedback limited) $120

The following fee applies for complete or partial re-attendance of a course:

• 20% of the course fee (the early bird fee still applies).

Booking Your Examination
Once enrolled in the Pilates Matwork Certification you can book your examination dates. Due to limited numbers, bookings are processed according to the payment date.
